#Love for Prevention

A Message from the Turnaround Team

Turnaround Life’s February campaign is from the heart. February 17th is National Random Acts of Kindness Day. This special day is celebrated nationally to encourage a random act of kindness or a selfless act performed by individuals to help, support, or cheer up a random stranger. The goal is selfless acts to make people happier. Participating in this wonderful day will bring a smile to not only a stranger’s face but to your own! During this amazing day of generosity, love, and positivity, Turnaround Life would like to raise awareness for HIV prevention, including pre-and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP/nPEP) and pay tribute to the 36.7 million individuals living with HIV across the United States. Many individuals living with HIV experience stigma associated with their diagnosis along with depression and anxiety.

You can pass forward love, kindness, and generosity of spirit by volunteering at Metro Wellness and Community Centers one of Florida’s leading HIV prevention providers, reaching more than 15,000 people in the Tampa Bay area each year, https://www.metrotampabay.org. Also, check with your neighbors to see if they have unwanted items they would like to donate. The more donations to pick up in one general neighborhood, the better! The Metro Thrift Store can be reached at 727-321-7212 and schedules pickups for some items and donations may be dropped off Monday through Saturday weekly from 10 am until 4 pm. The Metro Thrift Store is open Monday-Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and is located at 2235 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33713.

Most importantly, love yourself enough to get tested for HIV/AIDS and become a prevention advocate. If you know someone living with HIV/AIDS, continue to provide emotional support. Help us spread the love with your Random Acts of Kindness on February 17th!
